For as long as I can remember, I’ve played sports—baseball, basketball, football, soccer. Being active has just always been a part of my life. In middle school, I took to soccer and began weightlifting to help with my strength and conditioning. I remember my first power cleans—let’s just say my technique was lacking. I continued playing soccer and lifting through high school and college. Since college, I spent a couple of years surfing in Hawaii, picked up snowboarding, and played in various adult soccer leagues, desperate to stay active. However, it was a struggle to find an outlet to replace the weightlifting that was such a huge part of my athletic career. That is, until I found CrossFit MPH.
I joined MPH in the summer of 2011 and never looked back. I truly feel like I have a family and a home in MPH. When approached about joining the coaching staff, I was ecstatic for the opportunity. I’ve always had an interest in how things work and the human body is no exception. Understanding proper execution of complex and technical movements fascinates me, and I find it extremely rewarding to have an opportunity to share that knowledge with athletes at MPH.
