I started with CrossFit at MPH in 2009 and have never looked back. Having just completed my first marathon, I wanted to try something different and was introduced to MPH by a friend. I had dabbled in the gym world a little, but had never found a routine that could keep my attention for very long. Crossfit MPH caught my attention and has held it for many years now. Admittedly, I am a bit of a competitive person and have always loved games. CrossFit has provided me with hundreds of ways to compete and makes almost every workout a game, while still making sure I practice good form and remain safe. I have been extremely impressed by the progress of my physical fitness and strength throughout my time at MPH.
Learning to coach under Melody, Rebekka and the rest of the coaches has been a fantastic life-enriching experience. I have always had an interest in health and helping people, and coaching Crossfit has provided me the opportunity to apply my interests. It is extremely rewarding to watch athletes, and myself, improve every day.
The MPH Community is amazing. While I may be biased, it is the best CrossFit community I have encountered. There are so many intelligent professionals that are eager to help in any way they can. While Washington D.C. is a transient town and people come and go, it has been great to get to know nearly everyone who has passed through. From traveling to events, competitions and pushing our fitness to new levels outside of the box to happy hours and paleo potlucks, this is truly a fantastic group of individuals.
