What do the different abbreviations mean? Is there a workout legend?

Workout Legend

  • TT = Time trial, all-out effort
  • ET = Effort trial, all-out effort
  • Tempo = Reduced but consistent pace for time or distance; 100 percent describes an all-out effort, and tempo work is always between 85 and 95 percent effort
  • RPE = Rate of perceived exertion (see RPE scale)
  • SC = Short course (less than 90 minutes)
  • LC = Long course (90 minutes to four hours)
  • U = Ultra distance (greater than four hours)
