Incredible job today, Jessica. That was fun to watch, even if it was at 702’s expense.
And congratulations, Caitlin (this grinder was her first pull-up experience, band-assisted or otherwise). Few athletes are capable of making that leap. Your first free-swinging pull-ups are close. Great job.
I agree. Great job Jess! We were neck and neck through 90 but you pulled away in the last ten. Awesome!!
At least I can say I shaved 8 minutes off my time from the last attampt at 100 strict pullups. Thanks for the coaching, John. It really helped despite the rhetoric.
I wanted to add my congradulations to the people who were on that bar this morning. Caitlin, Jess, Roselena, Dave and Jeff- you all did great. I defiantly hope to get up on that bar and start busting out some pull ups sometime in the not too distance future.
Thanks everyone for the support and congrats to the entire 7am group for completion. The cheering and laughter was a big help so thank you. Also to the coaches – Mel you made sure I kept pushing and John thank you for keeping me focused at the end.
Thanks, I don’t know about the time, but my pullups were really ugly at the end. I was doing some weird sideways thing because it was the only way I could get my head above the bar.
I don’t think we, the 6 am group, are making enough noise here. Congrats Rob on an incredible feat. There was only one time Rob almost succumbed to the urge to crank out a kipping pull up, and he caught himself before doing it. Instead, he just hung on the bar and practiced his kipping swing for a while until the urge passed and he could go back to strict pull ups.
I also unconsciously switched to a bizarre half-jumping pullup at some point, which John quickly pointed out.
But I agree that the whole 6:00am group rocked this morning. A lot of great effort. 50/50 chance I’ll be checking out the sexy 7’ers tomorrow, only because I need more sleep.
Borja actually gave Coach Main his first “yes Coach” surge this morning so by the time he got to the rest of you guys he was already riding high on that one.
So, 702 came in again this afternoon (he just left) and ripped off a 29:32 after this morning’s effort. That’s right—he ran today’s WOD twice, took more than eight minutes off his March effort, and then took more than five minutes off that time just eight hours later.
Incredible work, Dave. Thank you for taking advantage of your gym.
Just so you know, I didn’t redo the WOD because you beat me this morning…I am not that shallow. Pull ups are my nemesis and I really just wanted to work on them and today’s WOD provided the motivation.
I am really proud of your effort this morning as well!
Thanks, John. It is so great to have such an awesome gym to come to.
In case anyone was wondering, I just had some nervous energy after work that I needed to work off. I knew I had another 100 pull ups in me and to make it interesting, I got it in my head that I was going to beat my time from this morning…and there you have it.
Jenn J. just fell on the “Fran” sword for everyone—violation of House Rule #0 (yes, we’re re-posting those soon). Cari joined her, just for fun. Nice work ladies.
20:58. the ceiling above the life fitness machine that i used to do the pullups on was quite low – just enough for me to get my chin over the top structure without always bumping my head. several head bumps resulted in me being a little gun shy, which meant that some of the 100 (that I counted as makes) might not have counted if was at MPH. Becuase of that, I would “*” this number.
was planning to take tmw off. but i’m a big boy and know my medicine though bitter is ultimately good for me. see you tomorrow

nice job HB… rock it!
You know, I can hear Sakar, and I can read his words. Yet, I cannot see him…? He is not here.
John
🙂
Plan is to be there at 6
Speaking of 702, Dave took more than eight minutes off of his last effort—killer work.
John
Thanks; where’s Jeff’s score?
I agree. Great job Jess! We were neck and neck through 90 but you pulled away in the last ten. Awesome!!

702
Dude, I was rhetoric-free this morning. You got “Diet Coach” at 7a. If you’re going to take a shot, you can do better than that.
John
I have to admit it was the softer side of John this morning. If there is such a thing. Wait a minute…scratch that…my only response is YES COACH.
702
Congrats on the 8 min reduction 702 – pull ups are still my nemesis. And to think I missed a “Diet Coach” moment.
I wanted to add my congradulations to the people who were on that bar this morning. Caitlin, Jess, Roselena, Dave and Jeff- you all did great. I defiantly hope to get up on that bar and start busting out some pull ups sometime in the not too distance future.
Sid
Awesome job this morning Jessica. Don’t worry Sidra you’ll be up there. JW
You will be up there in a short time, Sid. Why don’t you come in early tomorrow to practice pull-ups?
Melody
That is a good sense of humor right there. I think I will have to agree with Caitlin and say I am “so over” pulls ups.
However, my real response is just- yes coach.
Thanks everyone for the support and congrats to the entire 7am group for completion. The cheering and laughter was a big help so thank you. Also to the coaches – Mel you made sure I kept pushing and John thank you for keeping me focused at the end.
It feels good…but I am SO OVER pull ups. 🙂
Cait, I think when you go SO OVER a pull up it’s called a Muscle Up! 🙂 I’m just saying!!
I also wanted to say good job to Rob and his 12:23 time! JW
Thanks, I don’t know about the time, but my pullups were really ugly at the end. I was doing some weird sideways thing because it was the only way I could get my head above the bar.
Rob is the 6am beast!

you guys are probably just quiet from being tired due to waking up so early to get there by 6! haha
great job today everyone!

Who helped Neil count today?
That would imply Neil came in…we got a wave this morning on his way to work, but that was it.
John

Sweet merciful crap Dave!! That is amazing.
My shoulders hurt just thinking about that. You’re the man Dave!!!
Matthew
Awesome and inspiring, Dave, way to be.
Thanks, Jess.
