Howdy, all. I’m flying out tomorrow AM to see my 2 week old nephew and family for Christmas. Just wanted to wish everyone at MPH a great Christmas and happy New Year. Travel safe and I hope y’all get everything you want (if only face time with family, which I’m extremely happy about) and I would like to say what a great gift it is to workout everyday with such a hearty, supportive, and dedicated group!
    Happy Holidays

    Good Morning.

What a pleasure to wake this morning and see Dave on the MPH home page. I think this is my favorite photo thus far! At first I thought it was a statue of the Greek God Haphaestus (who had amazing upper body strength but weak legs) but soon my better judgement came to me in questioning why Haphaestus would be on the MPH website. Unless John has a thing for Greek Gods.

Anyway, If John and Mel ever decide to do an award to be handed out each year to the Finest Athlete at MPH it should be a cast bronze of Dave in this most heroic pose.

      StuLu,

You flatter me. He was the Greek God of Fire and Metallurgy…I like that fact. I think Haphaestus was married to Aphrodite, but she cheated on him with Ares…bitch. He was also known for creating the first woman of the ancient world Pandora…hmmm. They say he was ugly and lame, but quite the craftsmen…so he had that going for him. Anyhow, to be compared to a greek god is quite an honor. Thank you.

I have to admit, I do like the picture.

Fantastic—I love obscure references. The next time some guy Googles “Hephaestus,” he’ll end up here…but only if he spells it like StuLu. Sorry, dude.

This happens all the time with da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man (from our October 4 post). Lately, “subrins gam” seems to be a popular search term, and I’m not sure why. It get’s linked back to Kris’ comment on November 20 about her “gams.”

      Keep it coming.

Uh, apparently you have not spelled “subrins gam” backwards. This is creepy.

I give the picture a thumbs up.
I’m very excited to come in and do this workout today. I’ve got some built up energy from the weekend.

    Gang,

It looks like Sectionals’ registration has been pushed back to Wednesday. There will be a fee for participation and spectating, and the event is capped in either case. Individuals must register themselves. More to come…

Good thing we don’t have to do Burpieeees for every spelling mistake. For god sakes I exchanged an “a” for an “e”….now I am crucified? Forgive my 25 years since Greek Mythology 101!

That’s it…next Halloween I am coming dressed for the WOD as a Greek God. Not only will you have to guess which one – but also spell it correctly. Now I am curious…did Greek Gods wear LuLu Lemon?

WOW! I decided to go back and refresh my Greek Mythology now that John has called me out. Lo’ and behold…the center of the cult for Hephaestus was the island of Lemnos. I nearly fell off my chair! Get it? LuLu Lemon – Lemnos? Dave…you are in fact worshipped at LuLu Lemon…I am humbled. I am seriously jealous.
