***Important Announcement***
Registration for the October 31, 35th running of the Marine Corps Marathon begins today at 12p EST. As mentioned in January, we hope to put a team of MPH athletes on course for this event, training for which necessitates approximately two runs each week of interval training, or short and middle distances.

Preparation for this event will coincide with the launch of our new MPH Running Clinics. These one-day group clinics will soon be available in MINDBODY for $99, and will include:

  • The definition of running: history, technique and physics
  • The science of POSE Ⓡ running: perception, body weight application and the gravity concept
  • The application of POSE Ⓡ running: fall, POSE, pull; basic and intermediate drills
  • Video analysis (three filmed sessions over the course of the day)

The first three clinics will be held Sundays, May 2, May 16 and May 23 from 8a-12p, and are first available to athletes registered for the marathon. We will soon begin adding additional clinics on a monthly basis throughout the summer.

If you plan to register for the marathon this week, please contact us with the date of the clinic you would like to attend. Once you register for the marathon, forward us the email confirmation of your registration. We will release any remaining clinic spots for MPH athletes not running in October next week.

Congratulations Jerry C., for completing our Elements Workshop curriculum!

      Gang,

This is outstanding. If you haven’t signed-up for the marathon yet, send me a note when you do with the date of the clinic you’d like to attend, and we’ll accommodate you.

With the turnout today, our first clinic for athletes not in marathon training will be in June. We’ll post details about that next week.

I’m in. Shall be a fun experiment to see if POSE/CrossFit can improve upon my PR from 10 years ago.

Non-runners, like myself: any interest in forming a roaming cheerleading squad that day? Looks there are several spots where we could set up a “Go, MPH” sign and cheer on all our runners.

Count me in for the cheering as well, though with 19 runners we might have more athletes than spectators!
