Oh, and John, this is what Jen was referring to:

Sean
my favorite part: “and – three-minute legs has a depth control cable to keep you from going too low!” (well, besides the part where there they say “squats are too hard”)
wow… just wow
No way “3-minute legs” is a real thing. No way. I am amused, enraged and completely speechless. That’s unbelievable. But, where can I get some for the gym? Late burpees may be a thing of the past…along with 400 meters of lunges.
Also, we’re putting “power” in front of everything from now on, just like that dog leash: power burpees, power pull-ups, power inchworm, power squat trot, etc.
I will now light myself on fire.
John
This is brilliant. I would like to get one for all of our workouts that have overhead lunges. I need something that will “take the strain and pain” out of overhead lunges. Especially because “you already have to be in shape to do them.” I totally agree. This is unfair – especially to me. It says the wheels are good on most any surface, so it should be no problem using this on Church St.
sorry, i just realized that you already made the joke about performance on any surface… well, based on the ridiculousness of this thing, i think it may have been worth making the same joke twice 🙂
love it! and based on the 3-minute legs website, i think it is real. in fact, it looks like they won an award in 2009 for “best product of the year” from the electronic retailing association (which is also real). if you click on the accessories page, they sell bands for additional support and assistance. oh and rob, according to the FAQ, it can be used on any surface so you can use it outside for your overhead lunges…
There’s some great stuff in the YouTube comments section of the video. My favorite so far:
“Yeah I worked this into my normal workout and lost 40 lbs in one week. Best purchase ever. Going to keep it though, still can’t squat normally. Actually I’m posting this from my cell phone on the toilet, can someone come help me up?”
John
well, i clicked on the link and this was in the “related videos” section. this workout also takes 3 minutes. Do yourself and a favor and skip to the “stiff-legged deadlifts” section. Gang, despite what she says, that is not a flat back.

At least someone was smart enough to combine for efficiency… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vT-HknjvV4A&feature=related
Common! I just finally find the way to get in shape without going to the gym… Check it out

by the way, this it totally a legit foam roller move, for all you doubters out there 😛 See Video 3: http://www.strengthcoach.com/public/1303.cfm maybe next time we can try the “advanced” version on the table – i think the sorinex box would work for that, no?
Here’s the pop-culture question that stumped John. What’s the name of the band that Matt Groening and Stephen King play in? It’s so revenge of the nerds I love it!!

So many things to tell you today.
The first is Stephen King should stick to writing. And that one lady looked like she was yawning during the song.
Second An invitation: Several MPH members have a paleo eaters blog. It is a private blog, so it isn’t read by the public, but we would like to invite anyone from MPH who is interested in logging your diet to participate. The standard format is to list what you ate and at what time. Sometimes people ask questions and we get a lively discussion going. Sometimes it’s just lists of food. All the time, it is a great resource for keeping track of your paleo eating and your goals. If you are interested in being part of this, email me at ivy.lange@gmail.com or Sakar P at sakarp@gmail.com to be invited on. The only thing we ask is that you post! No one has to be perfect, except Rob. 😉
The next is an announcement: The Paleo bloggers referenced above invite you to the next (and best) Paleo Potluck! It will be on Sat, May 15. In celebration of the season, it will be grilling themed. I will have both a large electric grill and a charcoal grill to cook up stuff on.
Where: 80 S St NW
Time: 6 ish till whenever
Why: animal flesh is soooo good (especially charred) (sorry Jesse- you can bring any vegan food. We’ll eat that too.)
There is plenty of parking in the neighborhood. However people allergic (or afraid of) dogs should be cautioned. One of the roommates is a dog walker/sitter and though she is not currently scheduled to have any dogs that weekend, that could quickly change.

13:55. Was crunched for time, so did this one at the the work gym. Definitely got a few looks when I busted into the burpees.
