This is a great find, T.
Best part of the site is the pseudonym “Patrick Bateman” on the cards. You may remember him as the title character in “American Psycho.”
Outstanding, T. I don’t know which way to go with a response here—do I bask in the brilliance of this concept, or uncomfortably wonder how you found it?
And, Chudy: not at all surprised you pulled the American Psycho reference. Strong work. I will now stop using italics…
John
It’s best if you don’t ask how I found about meatcards. Just bask.
😈
my favorite part: “Eat at your own risk.” – haha
Yesterday was six months since I came home from my spinal surgery.
I started healing immediately, but my recovery, I believe started the day I returned to the gym, and my CrossFit community.
It’s a mark of pride for me that I made it back to unassisted pull ups yesterday
Mel, John, BK – I cannot thank you enough for your support and encouragement, and holding me back just enough.
Blessed Be
Tod
Tod – big congrats and good luck as you ramp back up to be even better than your former self
Tod,
Congratulations on your progress. You’re a lesson in healing and, more specifically, that success is driven from desire and belief.
John
Congratulations Tod!
John,
This is the actual text from the episode that I referenced during the bacon discussion this morning. In digging up this dialogue I realized how prominently pigs (and other meats) are featured in Simpsons episodies. If The Simpsons doesn’t warrant a lifetime Emmy, I don’t know what show does.
Homer: Wait wait wait a minute Lisa, honey, are you saying that you’re never going to eat any animal again? What about bacon?
Lisa: No!
Homer: Ham?
Lisa: No!
Homer: Pork chops?
Lisa: Dad, those all come from the same animal!
Homer: Yeah right Lisa, a wonderful, “magical” animal.
At the risk of irking the vegetarians among us, I also like this exchange (again from the Simpsons):
Jimmy: Uh, Mr. McClure, I have a crazy friend who says it’s wrong to eat meat. Is he crazy?
Troy McClure: No, just ignorant.
Droz,
You proved, yet again, that all good things come from Homer. He is so S-M-R-T. I mean, S-M-A-R-T.
John
Mmmmm bacon… If you’re a Simpsons fan, Duffy’s (near the 930 club) will be having an all Simpsons trivia night. Maybe a MPH team?
Forgot to put the date! June 20th, 8pm. Here’s the fb link… http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=128844843795929
Yes, Joe! This is huge.
MC, you and I will co-captain the team. We can hold tryouts and everything.
Our quest for athletic/world domination continues, and as long as we can keep the crayons out of our brains, this is about as sure a thing as can be—success is inevitable.
John
Doh! I’ll be in Peru then…
p.s. coca leaves are paleo right?
p.p.s the warm up is at the bottom right. http://www.thesimpsons.com/ In the words of Duff-man “Oh Yeah!”

Gang,
Regarding the email I sent this morning: if you are registered for a class that Saturday, do not cancel yourself just yet (or delay registering, for that matter). Once I know what interest we have, I’ll send another email confirming the event—late next week.
John
Speaking of pig…

sorry John, the bacon session is sold out.
Fierce debut picture, Katie. Clearly, it was only a matter of time…
Tonight a whole new level of Crossfit has been attained. Wall-Ball Burbees. It is official.
At 5:59PM on May 20, 2010 John Main did the world’s first version of a wall-ball throw into a Burbee and into a catch.
Tod has video and I hope that he will post it soon so that we can get a viral thing going on YouTube to capture the world’s attention.
I can’t wait to see us all on Church St doing this as a WOD. Blood will spill.
StuLu-
i can neither confirm nor deny that a video exists, or that I may or may not have edited it and added music…
Tod,
You got the email from John right? Send it to him first. History deserves a proper unveiling!
