This is Koji “Max” H.—in minute 21 of a maximum plank hold yesterday. Max holds the new record. 40:05. 40:05. The truest maximum effort we have ever seen.

Hey guys,
Would anyone be interested in going to dinner/happy hour at Commissary (across from whole foods) tonight at 6:30 or 7? I’m going to head over after the 5pm class.
You know I am ALWAYS up for stuffing face. Count me in!
Do they have breakfast at all hours? Hope so.

Koji- Amazing work! That’s some inspiring mental fortitude.
I wish I could join you for happy hour, but I’m tied up with a work function this evening. Have something paleo for me.

Ted and Borja,
Here is the article I mentioned last week on how temporary shocks can have lifelong effects in the labor market: http://faculty-gsb.stanford.edu/oyer/wp/mba.pdf
Thanks for remembering this, Erez. For others, the subject of this article came up at a post 6 am WOD “Breakfast with Borja” last Friday – some of us globo vets were talking about the almost random circumstances that led us to first Melody or John, and then the life-changing (and hopefully lifeong) effects that those temporary circumstances ended up having for us. Koji’s amazing dedication and work and his beautiful comments below underscore this. Congratulations, Koji, and thanks, coaches. Safe travels to Borja, Keena, and everyone else on the road!
Koji, that is so awesome!! Well done!
Dave O (702)
Wow, Koji!!!! That is so amazing! Congrats! Next time, we could put an iPad under you, playing a show or two so you could multitask!
I’m sorry I won’t be able to make it tonight, but I did want to say if anyone wants to join me tomorrow, I’ll be at Hudson around 8pm ish. My friend is hosting a fundraiser for there. If you’ve never been to Hudson, they have really good, organic, sustainably grown food there.
Also, I’m planning on Pose-ing week #2 tomorrow after the 6pm WOD, so ~7pm. Anyone want to join me?

you know who you are 🙂
Thanks for the props but the real congratulations goes to my fellow MPHers, & BK, Mel and John for all that they have done to help me achieve this time. Nine months ago I was not able to do a pull up, row 1000 m or last in a plank for more than 30 seconds but since my time at MPH I have seen marked changes in myself. Yesterday, I heard all of you offering support and pushing me to try harder. It is only with MPH support and thorough coaching that I was able to do what I did. I now understand how this entire group impacts my life and how your motivation helps all of us to achieve even greater goals. Thank you all.
Koji H
Koji,
Thank you for reminding me to give it my all, everyday in every way. 40:05 is not just physical strength and mental fortitude but the heart of a champion.
Respect!
I’ll see you all at commissary.
Koji, I must take my hat off to you. That’s awesome.
