Sean and I found a nice 400m track that we used this morning – it’s at Banneker HS, which is near Shaw/Howard, at around 9th and Euclid NW. According to some runner blogs, it’s open to the public during all daylight hours and I didn’t see any signs that indicated otherwise. It goes around the baseball field in case you’re driving around and don’t see it – and at least at 7am, there’s tons of metered street parking available and several people using the track, but not too crowded.

(I think this was a fairly accurate mile… I mapped it out on google pedometer)
Workout #8: 29:43 — while not quite as fast as 90% of the mile, still a 5k PR! 🙂

Workout 8: 28:25 (Sept 14) — Faster than 90% of my mile pace (which would have been approx. 29:30). I think there is something amiss with my mile time since I know I have run something in the low 7’s for MPH in the past.
