Yes, a big congrats, Christy. When my friend Kevin and I first joined MPH a few months ago, we watched a video of the women’s chipper from last year’s final. Our first thoughts were something akin to, “People actually do this shit?” Then we started to wonder if the Christy Phillips in the finals was the same “Christy P” we saw on the boards every day (and marveled at the times). Once we got the confirmation, you shot up to icon status … and you know how we gays like our icons. To this day, my single greatest accomplishment at MPH is staying with you for 200 meters of an 800 meter run … before you grew weary and passed me with ease.
So even those of us who don’t know you well are proud of what you did this weekend and look forward to you killing it again next year.
