Beef Eaters! The time has come. Delivery of our beef is going to be this Saturday at 11am at the gym. If you have placed an order, I would greatly appreciate you coming just a little before 11 so that we can distribute the meat when it gets there.

The size of the 1/8s range from 61-71 pounds (depending on the particular cow). The 1/4s are roughly 122-142 pounds. I have exact totals per person – send me an email (my gmail is mccuesm) and I will send them to you. Please plan to bring a check on Saturday – I’ll write out one check to Mary and you guys can all write one to me. Also, if you have far to go, you should bring a cooler.

    Nom. Nom.

    My Friends,

How good are you? Good. Really good.

Yesterday at CFA I did the WOD of 40/30/20/10 of pull-ups, push-ups, sit-ups, and squats. Next to me were two Navy midshipmen that are working out here for the summer (class of 2011). They used bands for the pull-ups.

Not that I am by any means dissing the use of bands (we have all been there) but these were two very in-shape and classically sculpted Navy guys who you would imagine would rip this thing apart.

Sure, they finished 10 minutes before me. But they could have easily done this workout as required and still finished before me. I did it RX, albeit slow…the whole time thinking of all of you and the greatness of being “MPH.”

I tell you this so that you realize how special you all are, how you set the bar.

So, if I find myself in a shit-storm it is all of you that I want by my side, especially Joe Pap – a man who is clearly in line for greatness and can demonstrate what it means to push oneself with honor.

See you all on the 28th..

StuLu – I finish on my feet…wherever my feet may fall.

Yes, I read it and I am living it.

I even told one of the coaches here that upon the completion of a wod if he ever sees me in any position but upright and tall (no leaning or hands on knees) that he should point it out to me as I will do 10 burpee penalties. He looked at me kind of strange (as everyone does here) and agreed.

Yesterday we completed a wod and half the athletes were prostate on the floor. I stood tall, walked it off, and even reached my hand out to someone to pull them up saying to him that “it’s better on your feet.”

Correction: Prostrate. Not prostate. So that we don’t imagine the unthinkable in “positions of weakness.”

Maybe we should get some of the MPH ladies to visit your box. I bet the Navy guys would feel pretty silly watching a bunch of women do it as prescribed while they used bands. I’m just sayin.

Look forward to seeing you on the 28th StuLu!

Thanks for the shoutout StuLu. I’ve only spoken (or typed) the words. I still have to prove it. One day… One wod… One meal… One fire or ems call at a time. Stay safe brother.

    Gang,

Great job this morning—I trust that was more fun than it would’ve been dry. The award for Soggiest Group so far goes to the 6a. Once again, however, the 8a lucked-out with minimal rain.

MPH remains accident free since 6a…

Stu Lu- Can’t wait to see you. What Lulu ensemble will you wear? I’ll tune in on the 28th.

While it still didn’t make the MC favorite WOD category running in the rain was definitely a lot more fun.

As for the soundtrack to the moment.. I would have probably gone with Garbage-I’m only happy when it rains or Missy Elliot I can’t stand the rain/Suppa duppa fly.

Alex- Way to set the new 400m record

Ian Astbury could kick Gene Kelly’s butt. And Ian is way more fashionable.

Yes Erez, he is. You are a bit too young to know this but in the late 80’s we did a great deal of pouting. And smirking. It was at that time part of the fashion, an accessory if you will. Especially so when wearing Jean Paul Gaultier or Vivienne Westwood suits like Ian is wearing in this video. You modern “show tune types” seem to prefer smiling and waving when you see a pretty lady; in the 80’s we learned to pout, smirk, and shake our lacy sleeves in ritualistic fashion – as smiles and lace do not go well together – one’s expression had to be that of disdain and revulsion. The “shtick” was in the juxtaposition of femininity and barbarism. I will do my Billy Idol for you at Karaoke some time to show you how well we all mastered this art.

StuLu-You should have seen my outfits I wore to the gym in the 80’s

BK—find this for the 6a soundtrack tomorrow. Stat.

Mark the time: MPH’s first Hilary Duff pull. Strong work, K. But, you should have come over the top with a Laguna Beach montage clip. Next time.

I believe the only reason John knows this was Hillary Duff is because it was on at least once an hour at the Globo.
