  1. No Mirrors

    There are no mirrors hanging from the walls of my yellow gym. Only slogans spray painted in black block letters, and a rectangular timer oozing seconds in digital red.

    There are no mirrors because there is no one to look into them. Except maybe StuLu, and he is gone.

    There are no mirrors in my gym, only a warm sweaty energy clinging to the yellow walls, the black slogans, the nervous timer, and our tired, heaving bodies.

    There are no mirrors, and if there were, we’d break them, by accident–or maybe not.
