The 2011 Reebok CrossFit Games Open begins March 15!
If you are thinking about competing, we want you to first ask yourself a few questions:
- Are you serious about training and nutrition?
- Do you have the time and mental fortitude to devote to additional training requirements?
- Are you currently performing most of our workouts as prescribed?
We have already discussed competition with several individuals, but if you have not yet joined the conversation and would like to, now is the time. If you are interested in competing, or have questions about your experience and preparedness, please talk to us via email, phone or in person.

Way to go Joe P.! Solid work on the AMREP! And Christy, you are a legend.

hang power snatch

then, as many rounds as possible in 12 minutes:
3x single-arm snatch, right arm @35-lb db
9x swing
3x single-arm snatch, left arm
55-66-77-77-77, 138
I used the hook grip on my snatch (never not funny) – I hope that was right. I felt like I could have gone heavier, but a) I’m still recovering from the plague, and b) I’m working in such a tight space that I’m afraid to drop the bar, especially from overhead.
Potential new song (and video) for our barbell club:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38jCPiMPSyg&feature=player_embedded
Gosh, he’s dreamy…
He’s so dreamy cuz he’s Frank Zane, Mr Olympia 1977-1979.
I recognize him from Arnold’s Encyclopedia of Bodybuilding.
(note leg presses in background near the end- thumbs up!)
love the song, btw
Not to mention potential new outfits for club members (yellow unitards at :24) I agree, though, it is a great song (“Liftin’… all that weight, makes me… feel so great…”). And I wore a similar (post-workout, 4″ shirt collar) outfit to my junior prom. with puka shells. in a new Chrysler Cordoba (velour seats, alas, we couldn’t afford the Corinthian leather). but no PBR. Seriously, though is that a push press? A clean and jerk? It’s hard to tell because of the camera angle.
Hey, I think my results are missing… I ended up 2 short of 16 rounds with 35 lbs doing single are power cleans. I was looking because I didn’t know my snatch numbers.
long jump; 128 (50 lb KB; single arm power snatch)
