Something felt..off..in the last set, so I bailed after three reps. I haven’t deadlifted since before I left in December, and without someone there to tell me what was wrong, I got nervous about hurting myself.
I’m in Beirut this weekend, on vacation (who doesn’t love spending free time in a place on the brink of civil war?), and today I did some wandering. After about 6 hours, I was feeling peckish, so I tucked into a cafe, and asked the guy running the joint to show me on a map where exactly I was (I was thoroughly lost at this point). We had some trouble, because I don’t speak Arabic or French, and spoke only a little English, but we worked it out. He showed me the map, I showed him where I had walked; he was quiet for a moment, then said “You are a strong woman.”
