Congratulations to all competitors who completed this weekend’s events, the 2011 Reebok CrossFit Games Open workout (11.4)!
While our athletes were busy offering themselves to the spotlight of competition, Sean M. was busy documenting their efforts on film. Thank you, Hugus! And, thank you to all the spectators who made these events so successful, and such fun to be a part of. We look forward to seeing everyone (again!) across the coming weeks.
Rest today.
Hey everyone… First-congrats to everyone on saturday!!! So much fun to watch you and cheer for you as you left it all on the gym floor.
A bunch of people have been asking me about my 4 brothers that were hurt on a fire ground a week ago. From the entire DCFD family, I just wanted to thank everyone for their prayers and support as we help these guys heal.
I’m happy to share that 2 of the 4 that were admitted to the burn unit have been released and are home recovering. The other two have made great progress thru several surgeries and skin grafts. The most serious, Chukie Ryan, has been removed from the ventilator and has begun a long recovery.
If you’re looking for some personal motivation–as I always am– check out the picture of firefighter Ryan doing some laps in the burn ICU, 45% 2nd+3rd burns over his body, and still intubated/sedated–someone breathing for him. If that’s not some inspiration….I don’t know what is. Amazing…

Thanks again,

Joe – It’s wonderful to hear that all four men are improving. Thanks for posting the update.
Joe, can you also put the link up for giving blood again? I am going today (Monday) to donate at Washington Hospital Center.
Nice work, Team MPH!
