One of the best parts about our job is getting to see consistent, hard work come to realized goals.
As I’ve said at least three times in the past two weeks, Katie M. has the best pushup technique in the room at any time, and if she lacks skill or capacity in some area, she meets it with the same effort.
It was just really great to see you get your handstand pushups on the first try this morning, Katie. Commitment pays—not always when you want it to, but always when you deserve it. Thank you for working hard. Here comes your muscle-up…
John
Thanks Coaches and 7am for this morning’s workout! This is my first blog post in the 16 months that I’ve been a part of the MPH community. I consider MPH a huge part of my life and it is always awesome to see fellow members get stronger and reach their maximum, and to come back the next day and see those same people pummel through yesterday’s max and set a new standard for themselves and others around them. We workout in an amazing box because our box doesn’t define or limit our potential – it always pushes us to reach the next level.
During this morning’s WOD, I failed in 3 HSPU attempts during the workout because I got fatigued and let technique fly out the window. When I readjusted my form to proper positioning, the HSPU were so much easier – I know I could have pulled out more than 44 HSPU on my first day of HSPUs. Improvement doesn’t feel like it happens everyday, but sticking to good technique and putting every effort you can to performing your best will get you to your goals. Muscle ups – you will be mine!
Congratulations Katie, you set a high bar.
This morning was my last WOD at MPH for awhile. I’m heading to Mother Russia for the next year-ish.
Coaches: THANK YOU so much for your fantastic guidance, motivation and support these past five months. You are now my standard for excellence.
6 a.m. friends: THANK YOU for being awesome. I truly looked forward to working out with you all every morning. On the days I didn’t schedule a WOD, I had trouble getting out of bed and getting to work. Thanks for being my community in early a.m.
If you happen to be in Moscow during the next year or so, look me up.
Thanks, MPH. I’ll miss you, and I look forward to coming back some day.
Sofia Javed
Sofia, I’m sorry to hear that you’re leaving, but look forward to your return.
Katie, awesome. To borrow from Keena’s post yesterday, strong is the new sexy, and MPH is chock -full of sexy.
Katie is indeed superwoman. After her bout with the HSPUs, she managed to run me down in the last 800, even though I had a decent lead. I thought about tripping her but was afraid she’d kick my ass.
Nice work today.
Bill G.
Sofia, 6am will miss you!!
