Go Caitlin! Nice to see you back in the gym and lifting heavy weights!
Thanks Josh. 🙂 It felt really good to feel strong today. Haven’t felt that way in awhile.
Shout out to Claire too. Holy crap! Way to put up some big numbers.
I forgot to enter the wod yesterday, I used 20 kgs dumbells (approx. 88.2lbs total) and the trademill: 15:00
Today I had a bar to do the cleans, in kgs: 50-60-75-75-75-70
or in pounds 110-132-165-165-165-154
Tried to keep the form but my feet were getting a bit too wild at the end.
To finish the workout I went to my room in the 19th floor using the steps of the hotel!
Thank You! MPH community and Coaches – John, Mel, and BK.
I am approaching my one year anniversary with MPH and it has been a year well spent. I have learned more, pushed myself harder, and tried so many things I always thought about doing but never did. I have completed 3 Sprint-Triathlons, a couple 5k and 10k races, and a metro dash. In large part it was the confidence I gained at MPH that made it the logical next step to compete and push myself and do something fun and challenging with my training.
Tonight was a high point though. I remember reading the website before I started at MPH (not closely enough at first, as I had to be reminded a couple of times that no gum was allowed in the box) and reading about the shirts. I thought then, and still believe now, that the best shirt in the box was the one “earned, never given.” I remember reading the great descriptions of how people had earned their shirts. It was impressive.
I had wondered what I would need to do to get a shirt – maybe a record number of push-ups or a ridiculous plank time. Instead it was John pushing me on cleans tonight. So, thank you for the shirt, thank you for the coaching, and thank you for demanding and expecting great effort from all of us.
