Beginning Saturday, February 26, we will host the weekly 2012 Reebok CrossFit Games Open workout for our competitors every Saturday at 1p through March 24. Please come by each week at this time to cheer on Neil A., Sidra C., Chris C., Steve D., Tamra F., Ivy F., Michael F., Alissa G., Borja G., Jon H., Rob K., Josh M., Joe P., Christy P., Andrew R., Dave R., Mike S. (from San Francisco!), Joe S., Brian T. and Matthew W., as they attempt to qualify our affiliate team for the Mid-Atlantic Regional Final (May 4-6)!

This week’s Open workout (12.2) is:
as many repetitions as possible in 10 minutes:
30x snatch @ 75/45-lbs.
30x snatch @ 135/75-lbs.
30x snatch @ 165/100-lbs.
max snatch @ 210/120-lbs.

    Dear Friends:

    The annual auction at my son Matei’s school is less than two weeks away! This year, all funds raised will go to help buy tablets and laptops for Ross Elementary students and staff, and to provide continued support for staff’s professional development and enhancements in their after-school enrichment programs. Please read below to find out how you can help the school meet and exceed their $65,000 goal this year!

    Come to the Auction on Saturday, March 10

    This event is FREE and open to the public — in addition to Ross families, all community members are welcome to a fun evening out for good cause.     When: March 10, 2012, from 5 to 8 pm

    Where: The German Marshall Fund, 1744 R Street NW (corner of 17th and R)

    How: Admission is FREE to an evening in the beautiful German Marshall building with Ross friends and neighbors. Enjoy complementary appetizers and sweets kindly donated by The Cajun Experience, Level One, Rosemary’s Thyme, Safeway, and Sticky Fingers. There will also be a cash bar.

    What: A silent auction, a live auction, and several raffles.

    Bid Online and Via Absentee Bidding

    If you can’t make it to the auction but still want to support Ross and bid on some of the fantastic items offered, you can do so online! Visit — once registered to bid on the site, you will have an opportunity to indicate your maximum bid(s), and volunteers will bid incrementally for you on auction night. We will contact you Monday morning (March 12) if you are the lucky winner!
