CrossFit For Hope is on! This year’s inaugural event replaces September’s usual Fight Gone Bad fundraiser, and it will bring our communities together more powerfully than ever. Benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, our worldwide goal is to raise $1.7 million (one day’s operating cost for St. Jude) to combat childhood cancer and other deadly diseases.
Today, from 9a until 5p, over 30 area affiliates and their athletes will gather at John Marshall Park on the National Mall to complete the workout, with scaling options available so that all may participate. The workout:
“Hope”
three rounds:
burpee (reps)
power snatch @ 75/55-lbs. (reps)
box jump, 24″ platform (reps)
thruster @ 75/55-lbs. (reps)
chest-to-bar pull-up (reps)
In this workout you will move from each of the five stations after one minute. The clock does not reset or stop between exercises. This is a five-minute round, from which a one-minute break is allowed before repeating. On the call of “rotate,” you must immediately move to the next station for the best score. One point is given for each repetition.
This workout is scored by the total points.
To participate, you must register for the event on the Mall, and for the fundraising effort. What you need to know about both:
- For the event on the Mall:
- There are four options for registration: Individual, Individual with t-shirt, CrossFit Kids, and volunteer
- Registration fees are $12—register here
- To support CrossFit‘s partnering with St. Jude and in the spirit of the event, all participants must raise at least $30
- For the worldwide fundraising effort:
