Apropos my upcoming trip, I ran across the following quote in the Journal:

“Airports can be some of the most-unhealthy places used by millions of people. Running with baggage… can contribute to heart attacks.” http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303612804577530901183639984.html

    Wtf, America.

Ivy, the bodies in the crowd were sick to say the least. But the perceived valuation of beauty over strength and endurance was not without controversy. The “sevens into tens” commercial was played repeatedly and drew mixed responses. The link below is the only one I can find but you’ll get the idea.

That ad is highly disappointing, Terry. I hope no one took my comment to mean I actually value the aesthetic effects of CF over the strength/health/mental toughness effects. The ad is a total disconnect from what I know the majority of CrossFitters (and not just women, again eye-roll at that ad!) to believe about why they do it.

One year ago today I began Elements at MPH. I’m not really good with words so I’ll keep it simple. Thank you. Thank you John, Melody, and Rebekka. Thank you for all the hard work you put in to make us better athletes. And thank you for the community and camaraderie you have created that is MPH. I am stronger and healthier than I have ever been in my life and I cannot express how grateful I am for that.

    Thank you,

    Matthew
