Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving. Rest—for the next four days. Give your bodies a sufficient chance to recover, take care of your hands and really enjoy this time with friends and family.
We are so grateful for your presence, for your loyalty and dedication, for the effort you give in every workout and for your innumerable and diverse contributions to our community.
A hundred times, thank you.

This video is awesome. Every day should be boy band day!
I am so thankful to have everyone from MPH in my life! Have a wonderful holiday! I will be enjoying some marshmallows with a little sweet potato…emphasis on the marshmallows.
So sad to have missed clean and jerk max effort day yesterday! I am thankful for MPH because you are some of my best friends through tough times and very happy moments. Happy thanksgiving and rest well!

Amazing video. Great job, everyone! And Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone 🙂
I’m so very grateful for this video. It makes me smile so hard my face hurts.
Happy holidays to everyone in this amazing community! I’ll see you again in January.

Just watched it again. Everything about it is so great: the music, the clean + jerks, the mustaches… much better than the actual video for this song.
Really sorry to have missed the filming of this music video. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving holiday and takes some time to reflect on how lucky we all are. See you next week! War eagle.
To make up for the lack of the paleo blog, here is a short recount of my annual anti-paleo Thanksgiving:
5:15am: The baby continues his boycott of Standard Time. I tried telling him that he should blame Congress and not his parents, to no avail.
6:30am: 4 eggs and an apple. I want to be strategic and eat something so that my stomach doesn’t shrink by the time of the big meal. I don’t know if this makes sense, but I’m sticking to it.
7:30-10:30am: The baby lodges his continuing objection to the car seat.
1:00pm: Glass of wine. No other takers on the wine. My southern family goes for the bourbon instead, leaving me with the bottle. Worse things have occurred.
1:30pm: Glass of wine.
2:00pm: Thanksgiving! Turkey (White and dark meat) with gravy, mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing with gravy, white house roll with butter and gravy (gravy features prominently at our house), green bean casserole with those crispy onions from the can on top, extra-sweet sweet potato casserole with a crust of brown sugar and pecans, glass of wine.
Some people prefer their sweet potatoes with the marshmallow crust instead of the brown sugar/pecan crust. These people are wrong.
2:30pm: Thanksgiving seconds! I decided that the Turkey was taking up room that should be reserved for carbs. So no more turkey. Instead: stuffing with gravy, white house roll with butter and gravy, green bean casserole with crispy onions, extra-sweet sweet potato casserole, glass of wine.
My Aunt tells me that her green-bean casserole tastes better because she does not use fresh green beans. I have no idea why this makes sense, but it does taste really good.
3:00pm: Thanksgiving thirds! White house roll with butter, green-bean casserole, lots of extra sweet sweet potato casserole. Rest of the bottle of wine.
3:15pm: Dessert! Large slice of chocolate-meringue pie.
3:20pm: Dessert! Second large slice of chocolate-meringue pie.
3:30pm: (Digging deep) Dessert! Third large slice of chocolate-meringue pie. All told, I ate about 2/3 of the pie.
3:45pm: The alcohol and sugar are combining together in some crazy fashion inside my body. I’m light-headed. My extremities are actually tingling. I contemplate whether this is what huffing glue feels like.
4:00pm: My right leg won’t stop moving. This would be concerning, except it also happened to me two years ago, so I ignore it.
4:35pm: (Blood-sugar crashing) Is anybody getting a little tired?
4:45pm: So . . . very . . . sleepy.
4:50-6:00pm: Nap
6:30pm: A little turkey, but I’m still really full, and can’t bring myself to eat again. A good day!
Thank you thank you! The tradition lives!
Good man, Rob!! I actually laughed out loud at the “4:00pm” description. Although I think Lefty and I have a bone to pick with you about marshmallows!!
Agreed. Marshmallows…with a little bit of sweet potato. That’s the way it should be!
I once had the sweet potatoes with the brown sugar/pecan crust AND marshmallows on top of all that. I didn’t know what to think.
lol. I’m sure Matt W just love the song selection for this video.
great video. looking forward to coming back! and thanks as always coaches for everything
