It’s been a long time coming: we are making a new t-shirt, and we would like you to pick the slogan/handle/tag/battle cry. Post it to comments.

Depending on the quality and number of responses, we will either pick the winner ourselves, or put it to a vote. You may submit as many entries as you like, but think quality, not quantity!

For your reference, here is what our athletes came up with the last time we had a slogan contest, in the fall of 2009. And, here is Stulu’s (we miss him!) commentary on the necessity of one.

Rest today.

Oh boy. This is going to be good. Initially I’ll say I’m a sucker for anything with an American flag on it.

    On the front:
Something with the MPH Logo and image of a person jerking/or a barbell on the front

    or
DC skyline with MPH cut into it

    On the back:
“Strong people are harder to kill…and more useful in general.” -Mark Rippetoe

    or
    Pick up the bar!

Some good ones here- love the MPH/DC skyline idea, also the lifter or silhouette.

    Be a performance whore

Some iteration of “Get on the bar”, “Get back on the bar”, “Pick up the bar”

Of course I’m partial to “All Day and Tomorrow”

I also like “pick up the bar” or “get on the bar.” “Stronger people are harder to kill” is a good one. There are lots of possibilities with MPH. Just off the top:

    Manufacturing powerful humans
    Making professionals here
    More physical humans

    Miscellaneous:
    Go hard or go home
    Can’t stop won’t stop
    Putting in work

Not sure how I missed this one before:

      CrossFit MPH: Speed Kills

I also like that the current logo kind of looks like MPH in crosshairs. MPH = speed, crosshairs = kills.

A little long, but I like this:

“Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.” Aristotle

I like the idea of a shadow/textured pic of the Open participants, or just a ‘skyline’ of MPH athletes. And text cut out in the middle of the pic in a bold, aggressive font:

    “Just Dive”

    “Dig In”

“Secure eternal life ” (just kidding☺

    “No limit to your potential”

    “You are what you lift”

The NorCal crossfit gyms are by my parents’ house and I like how they have the state of California in their logo. Looks clean. http://www.norcalcrossfitapparel.com/

Maybe we have the shape of DC in MPH (or the Capitol building).

For the morning classes: “[silhouette of barbell or rings] by day. [Silhouette of Capitol] by night.” The reverse for the evening classes. Noon is messing me up.

Also, where are the “that’s what she said” variants?
