The 2014 Reebok CrossFit Games Open is coming…in 25 short days!
Your performance each week will be dependent upon a few key factors. The most important is your training base, your long-term preparation—including the last year of workouts. Look at your attendance at the gym during this time and, of course, how hard you pushed yourself each training day—your intensity and work ethic each class. Add to that your diet, sleep and recovery habits across all 12 months, and the picture of your preparation yourself starts to come into focus.
From now until the Open begins, you have another opportunity to set up for maximal success—measured one rep at a time—by paying even more careful attention to all of those factors. One thing, however, that can make a substantial difference in the coming weeks is focusing on the skills that are bound to appear in the event: double unders, chest-to-bar pull-ups, muscle-ups and toes-to-bar, to name a few. This is what our weekly extra practice is for—to increase your exposure. Please continue to review the board each week for the Open skill work, and continue to work on your weaknesses.
The Open is a fantastic opportunity for focus in your training, and is also a great way to test your ready state. And, it is the experience to be able to participate in the largest fitness competition in the world while experiencing our own amazing community!
Rest today.
